Amanda Williams is a proud Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Biripi and Djiringanj woman living in Nambucca Heads. She is currently completing a Master by Research at Southern Cross University while working as a Sea Country Ranger with Ngiyambandigay Wajaarr Aboriginal Corporation (NWAC). Her work sits at the intersection of marine ecology, cultural practice and Sea Country management.

Her thesis focuses on improving techniques to scale up and optimise coral aquaculture, with the aim of breeding corals that are resilient to projected climate change conditions. She has also conducted research exploring the impacts of pollution on Indigenous food sources.

Amanda is deeply committed to cross-cultural learning and research grounded in Indigenous sciences and knowledge systems. She is passionate about supporting Indigenous-led research that uplifts community knowledge and priorities, and delivers meaningful benefits for Community and Country.
