Dr Robert Mason

University of New South Wales

Robert is a Postdoctoral oceanographer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) where he investigates ocean dynamics in eastern Australian waters using observational data and analysis of ocean modelling. Prior to joining UNSW, he was a CSIRO Early Research Career Fellow during which he validated hydrodynamic, Lagrangian and individual-based models for predicting the oceanic dispersal of coral larvae. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Queensland, using the output of atmosphere-ocean general circulation models to forecast future scenarios for the health of the Great Barrier Reef. He has degrees from Macquarie University, Imperial College London, and the University of Queensland.
