Katie Motson

Australasian Coastal Restoration Network

Katie Motson is an aquatic ecologist with a strong research background focused on the impacts of anthropogenic and climate change stressors on aquatic ecosystems. Her expertise spans aquatic physiology, community ecology and wetland science and management. Currently, Katie’s work concentrates on coastal wetland ecology, community-based ecosystem restoration, and restoration finance and governance. As Network Coordinator for the Australasian Coastal Restoration Network, Katie bridges science, policy, and practice across diverse stakeholder communities, fostering international collaboration and supporting the strategic growth of the network. Katie holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh (Geography BSc) and James Cook University (Marine Biology & Ecology MSc, PhD).
